Jorge Prado secured fourth overall at the eighth round of the 2026 AMA Pro Motocross Championship at Washougal, delivering consistent 3-4 moto finishes aboard his KTM 450 SX-F Factory Edition. The Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rider maintained his fourth position in the championship standings as the series enters a two-week break.
The four-time world champion qualified fifth with a 2:09.928 lap time before converting a strong start into third place in the opening moto. Prado’s KTM featured a special Military Appreciation Race livery for the weekend. A tip-over on the opening lap of Moto 2 cost him valuable positions, though he recovered to fourth by the chequered flag.
“Fourth overall in Washougal, it was an okay day – nothing great, but not too bad,” Prado said. “In Moto 1, I was in a good position to fight for the win, but I just didn’t have the speed. Then in the second moto I was again in a pretty decent spot, but had a tip-over on Lap 1, which had me lose so many positions. I got back to fourth, but by that time the riders at the front were already gone. We’ll step it up and keep working!”
Four-time 450MX champion Eli Tomac made his third Pro Motocross appearance of 2026 at Washougal, qualifying seventh on the KTM 450 SX-F Factory Edition. The 33-year-old recorded 14th in both motos as he continues building race fitness ahead of the final three rounds.
“It was a tough day at Washougal with a couple of tough motos, but we made it through the weekend healthy, which was important,” Tomac said. “Now, we will do what we can to keep improving with these next two weeks off and try to be better at the next race.”
In the 250MX division, Julien Beaumer qualified second with a 2:12.562 lap time on the technical, hard-pack circuit. The Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rider was caught in a second-turn pile-up in Moto 1, recovering to eighth place. He improved to fifth in Moto 2 after climbing from ninth on the opening lap, securing sixth overall and consolidating third in the championship standings.
“I finished up 8-5 for sixth overall at Washougal, which wasn’t my best day,” Beaumer explained. “Moto 1, I was caught up in a second-turn crash, which had me come from the back, and in Moto 2 I just didn’t feel great and was able to salvage a fifth. Although it’s not ideal, it’s still points scored, and we’ll get back to work and come out swinging for the final three rounds.”
The AMA Pro Motocross Championship returns on 15 August at Unadilla, New York, for Round 9 of 11.
