Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing has released a new mini-documentary offering an inside look at the people, partnerships and shared ambition that have shaped one of Grand Prix motocross’ most successful teams in recent years. The film chronicles the journey from the foundations of the Nestaan project through to World Championship success.
The documentary, now available on the Husqvarna Motorcycles YouTube channel, features insights from team owner Kay Hennekens, team manager Rasmus Jorgensen and Motorsport Director Pit Beirer. The three reflect on how a shared passion for motocross developed into a relationship founded on trust, quality and a clear long-term vision for success at the highest level of the sport.
Based in Lommel, Belgium—the heart of European motocross—Nestaan has evolved into far more than an external race team. The film explores how its close relationship with Husqvarna Factory Racing has created a structure capable of developing riders from young prospects into Grand Prix winners and World Champions.
Central to the documentary is the story of Kay de Wolf, who joined the programme at just 13 years old. De Wolf reflects on growing up with the team, realising his childhood dream of becoming MX2 World Champion in 2024, and the special relationship that has developed along the way. His journey continues in MXGP following a recently announced multi-year contract extension that keeps de Wolf, Nestaan and Husqvarna Factory Racing together for the foreseeable future.
The film also follows Liam Everts‘ journey with the team, including his breakthrough 2025 season, Grand Prix victory in Spain and first championship red plate in France. Everts discusses what it means to represent Husqvarna and the close-knit group behind his success. The Belgian is signed through 2027, ensuring continuity within the programme.
The documentary doesn’t shy away from challenges either. Beirer discusses the commitment shown across the organisation during a difficult period for the wider business and the determination from everyone involved to keep the programme moving forward through adversity.
Throughout the victories, World Championships and difficult moments, one message remains clear: the strength of Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing has always been its people. With de Wolf committed to MXGP, Everts signed through 2027 and the partnership with Nestaan secured for the future, the next chapter is already being written.
